    Looking at this car I can hear Borat exclaiming "It's a nice!", BUT I bet the car is reliable, easy to start in extreme wet, hot or cold weather. I imagine the heater will melt lead. I am not a fan of the new computerised cars that I can no longer fix and need a hoist to do normal maintenance on.

    Just going to correct something Doug said. Unimogs are made by Mercedes-Benz but It started life as it’s own brand. Unimogs have a really interesting history Doug doesn’t go into. Unimogs were first built as the jack of all trades farming vehicle in post-war Germany. They later started commercial use and in the 50s, Unimog was bought out by Mercedes-Benz. Unimogs are honestly just Mercedes subsidiary making big trucks with the Mercedes-Benz badge on them.

    Don't forget that it's not an auto gearbox in this car, it's a manual gearbox which changes itself. If you lift the throttle when it changes like in a normal manual it makes it far smoother.

    well, you talk about how basic the interieur is, but i think it just looks pretty shitty. if they wanted to loose more weight they could have thrown out the radio, the speakers and lighten the seats. i mean just look at the f40 for example or lotus cars. maybe "basic" is meant in american standards... :D

    Having been a Captain at an airline for 30 years, I can assure you that one of the engineers was either a pilot or aircraft engineer. There are many features and names that mimic aircraft switches of the time. The Standby switch is a prime example.

    VW Beetles in the 1960s had a "Standard" model with ONE sun visor. How many cars have a mirror in each sun visor? Name some! For safety the driver should not have a mirror as they should be watching the road. Modern cars have sloping rear windows that look so shapely but this car can have suitcases put in without getting a hernia. Nowadays we cannot even see the engine in cars as they are covered in plastic to stop us working on them. Next time could we have some objectivity and facts?
